With the pure power and might of this alpha dog, it will be a joyous welcome indeed.
The new 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS--fully-loaded, vicious, and intrepid--will be joining the current rank of new luxury SUVs in Santa Fe come springtime, and if you've been thinking of upgrading your current vehicle, you might want to wait for this stunning new addition.
The powerful new SUV replaces the outgoing Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV, a long-beloved icon. But, as one leader is always replaced by another, stronger leader in the wild of the pack, so does the GL relinquish its power to the refined, dominant new GLS-Class.
The new model will arrive with a standard 3.0-liter biturbo V-6 engine, boasting 363 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission for fast and smooth shifting. The automaker hasn't yet specified whether 4MATIC all-wheel drive will be available, but we can only imagine it will be. Model options will include a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450, GLS 550, GL 350d diesel, and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, offering everything from high-torque fuel economy, to practical luxury power, to aggressively eye-watering 577 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque.
Greet your alpha.
