The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship vehicle. The base engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 that produces 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque when coupled with the EQ Boost mild hybrid system. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. Mercedes offers two other engines for the S-Class. The first is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that produces 496 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The second engine is a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 that makes 603 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The S-Class comes standard with air springs and adaptive dampers. The air spring system can raise or lower the vehicle to improve clearance and aerodynamics. The adaptive dampers automatically adjust the stiffness to provide a comfortable ride or a more composed driving experience, depending on the selected drive mode.
